Laminating and Encapsulating
Laminating and encapsulating are methods of protecting printed media from damage by covering them with a palstic film. The subtle difference betwen the two processes is that encapsulation involves covering both sides of the media, leaving a sealed border around it, while lamination can cover one or both sides without leaving a border.
If the media is for outdoor use or is likely to come in to contact with water, moisture or damp conditions encapsulation would be the most suitable. If the overall thickness of the media is needed to be kept low then laminating may be the preferred option.
There are a range of laminate and encapsulate thicknesses and finishes depending on the desired application:
• Up to 1040 mm width and any length
• A range of finishes - gloss, matt, satin,
scuff resistant etc.
• Thicknesses from 35 to 250 micron
• For indoor or outdoor use
• We specialise in finishing wide format
